Costa Rica is a Spot of Interest

Costa Rica is the smallest country in Latin America – it is situated on the narrowest part of the isthmus that connected the South and the North of America. It may be rather strange but this country was also opened by Christopher Columbus in 1502. Actually he developed the North and the South of America. There were no natural resources but the climate was good for growing some plants and domestic animals. Later the young coffee plants were brought here by the residents from the nearest Cuba and they have been growing since that time. The first people who inhabited these places were Spanish – they just saved themselves from the justice or religion. They settled the first towns on this land, for example, Cartage, that was the capital for a while.

In 1821 Costa Rica got independence and united with Nicaragua and Guatemala, Honduras and Salvador and joined the Mexican Empire as a federation. After that a constitution was adopted in 1844.

Traveling through these countries Alex found out the remains of Spanish civilization that were reflected in some buildings and sculptures. Several items made from gold and nephrite are kept thoroughly in the Museum.

Reservation of hotels and a car for traveling around the isthmus gave good results. Alex was happy to stay in a wonderful hotel close to the Caribbean Sea. The matter is that Costa Rica occupies the territory between two waters – the south-west is washed by the Pacific Ocean and the north-east – by the Caribbean Sea. It’s a comfortable place for travelers indeed.
